I'm very glad to have found this community, and to know that there's such a large groundswell against the film.

It's such crap when good authors (whose name isn't J K Rowling) get turned over in this way. TDIR has been part of my mind-wallpaper practically ever since it first came out; and I gather it's been mighty influential (in a quiet way) ( Read more... )

There was a brief segment on The Dark is Rising on today's All Things Considered. It had a interview segment where Susan Cooper basically said that she had nothing to do with the script for the new movie and that the changes in the script she saw were too extreme (all in a very polite, understated way of course).

Hoyts Cinemas are running a competition for the upcoming film "Seeker: The Dark is Rising". Competition info is hereI know a number of people here are wondering what the film will be like, and frankly, even with all the changes that seem to have been done to the original text, I don't see what whitewater rafting has to do with it.
